A Message From Maverick President, Lowell Hays.

As the son of a homebuilder, I spent a lot of my evenings and weekends at job sites. Sweeping up dust, carrying supplies, and learning a thing or two along the way. For my dad - like most builders - it was on the job site that he loved his job. It was sitting in front of a mountain of paperwork that he dreaded it.

Today, it has never been more complex to run a home construction business. Changing building codes, labor shortages, rising litigation, and an increasingly competitive land market dominated by larger national builders are daily challenges for every homebuilder.

Our company was founded - back in in the 1980s, then called Bonded Builders - to make it easier to be a builder and, particularly, to address one big headache at the time - warranty litigation. Our founder, Howard Head, a leading South Florida HBA leader, devoted his life to that cause. His focus on helping builders focus on building has been in our DNA ever since.

Today, we're announcing the growth and expansion of our business - with the goal to solve more of those headaches - and a new name and identity to match our new ambitions.

The first step on that journey is better protecting builders from litigation; we're excited to announce the acquisition of the commercial builder insurance agency team from our sister company Bankers Insurance Services. The addition gives us not only an experienced team to add to our risk advisors, but also relationships with dozens of the top builder-focused insurance carriers.

As claims have risen and policies have become more complex, it has become even more important for builders to create truly integrated risk management programs - with their builders risk, general liability, workers compensation, and warranty coverages coordinated tightly to prevent gaps in coverage.

The policies - and their applications - are simply too complicated to be purchased individually anymore. Our focus is on streamlining how builders - and their insurance agents - purchase and engage with these products, provide more transparency around pricing and coverages, and educate on what options are available.

We enjoy great relationships with many strong risk advisors and insurance agents who have recommended our warranties as a key part of their risk plans in the past. We view today's announcement as a way to deepen those relationships. I believe our new, expanded offerings - particularly our carrier relationships - will give them even better options to protect their builders.

As part of this expansion, we have also changed our name. Maverick is a manifestation of who we aim to be, as a company and as advisors for our builders - independent-minded critical thinkers, trusted, willing to stand firm for what we believe, innovative, constantly seeking to improve.
