Team Member Spotlight: Rodger Levering | Builder Insurance Specialist

Meet Rodger (Rod) Levering. Maverick's Builder Insurance Specialist.

As our team announced in early February, Maverick acquired the commercial/builder insurance division of our sister company, Bankers Insurance Services.

As a result of this acquisition, Rod and his team have come on board Maverick to provide our builders with commercial insurance products specific to the building industry.

Rod says in regards to the acquisition, "I’m very excited that Maverick acquired our commercial insurance department. Maverick is truly where my team belongs, and where we will be most helpful. We are ready to do big things for Maverick and their builders."

Rod says it's vital that builders have a trusted risk advisor in their corner. He says, "The building/builder insurance industry is a very difficult niche market. Without a construction specialist insurance professional in their corner, business owners could be paying tens of thousands of dollars for insurance that isn’t providing adequate coverage. It takes years of schooling and experience to become a specialist in the ever-changing construction insurance market. Trusting your construction business insurance needs to anyone but a specialist is a gamble."

Rod is from St. Petersburg, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Business Administration. He started working for an insurance agency right out of college that was owned by a family friend. Rod says he never planned on working in the insurance industry long-term but quickly came to realize he wanted to make insurance a career. 23 years later, Rod has a CBIA designation (Certified Builders Insurance Agent) and has helped countless clients obtain and understand their business insurance coverage.

When asked what his favorite part about working in insurance is, Rod said, "I enjoy explaining insurance products and coverages provided by our programs to my clients. Let's face it, insurance isn't everyone's favorite topic, so I enjoy simplifying the process and helping builders understand why the insurance they are purchasing is important and what it covers.

In Rod's spare time, he says he enjoys spending time with his family, offshore fishing, golf, and boating....pretty much anything outdoors!

We are thrilled to welcome Rod and his insurance expertise to the Maverick team.
